Soil stabilization is the process of adding additives to the soil to improve its engineering properties. There are many reasons that oil stabilization is necessary.
One reason is that it makes the area trafficable for emergencies. Another reason is that it increases the soil’s strength. A third reason is that it improves natural soil for the purposes of construction. Additionally, it enhances the soil’s bearing capacity.
Five different methods of soil stabilization exist. These methods consist of chemical stabilization, mechanical stabilization, lime stabilization, cement stabilization, and bituminous stabilization. Cement stabilization mixes water and Portland cement with pulverized soil to create strong material. A company may use one of three types of cement stabilization. These are normal soil cement, plastic oil cement, and cement-modified soil.
Different factors affect cement stabilization. The type of soil used is one factor that affects it. Other factors include the amount of cement, the amount of water, and the added mixtures.
Lime stabilization is done by adding lime to the soil. The addition of lime causes the soil to react in a way that diminishes the soil’s plasticity. The result is soil that’s more suitable for upgrading.
